Biography:
Ida is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Health and Social Care at Edge Hill University. She gained an MSc (Health Sciences) from the University of Liverpool; a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Clinical Practice from Lancaster University and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Royal Society of Public Health.
Ida’s initial training was in clinical physiology (cardiology and respiratory medicine) where she developed skills as a teacher and researcher. Her research and project management led to the completion of numerous studies in asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and lung cancer.
In postgraduate medical education, Ida conducted studies in portfolio development, and the education and training needs of trainees and education supervisors.

Ida’s research has been published widely in peer-reviewed journals and she has presented her work at national and international Scientific and Medical Education conferences. She is a member of a number of respiratory and medical education societies and is also a reviewer for the British Medical Journal, Journal of Advanced Nursing and Medical Education.
Her current research focuses on clinical studies in head and neck cancer and nephrology, educational learning styles, clinical guidelines, and systematic reviews in healthcare.
